Ricardo Vargas, MD, says that ever since a magical Christmas in Puerto Rico as a boy when he received a doctor's kit under the tree, he has known he wanted to be a physician. That belief was strengthened during medical school, when he recognized he had a gift of empathizing with those who are sick or hurting. Today, Dr.
Vargas makes a point to practice the Golden Rule with the patients and families he serves and to treat everyone like family. He enjoys travel, sports, medical missionary work and spending time with his wife, Julie, and their three children. Dr.
Vargas is fluent in Spanish.
